I am originally from Greenwood, Arkansas but I moved to Russellville in 2011 to attend college. After graduating from Greenwood High School, I chose to further my education at Arkansas Tech University.
I graduated Magna Cum Laude with my bachelor’s degree in secondary English education.
I obtain at least 60 hours of professional development yearly in order to become the best educator I can be. This summer, I attended a four-day instructional English conference through National Math + Science Initiative. I have also had the privilege in years past to attend an Arkansans for Gifted and Talented Education (AGATE) conference in Hot Springs, Arkansas.
I began my teaching career here at Atkins three years ago. I teach 8th grade English and Pre-AP English. I also co-coach the Atkins Junior High Cheer team.
I have a pet guinea pig named Daisy who stole my heart (and my carrots).
When I am not teaching or coaching, I like spending time with my friends and family. I enjoy hiking and exploring the beautiful state of Arkansas. I like watching football and I try to attend at least one Arkansas Razorback game per season. WPS! I also try to travel as much as possible even with my busy schedule. Two of my favorite places to visit are Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida and New Orleans, Louisiana.
